Requiem For Love

One of my good friends died last week.


I am going to their funeral today. The thought came to my mind, "When was the last time I told them that I loved them?" I remembered it had been years. Why hadn't I done that more often?


Too busy?
Too awkward?
Too real?
Too soon?
Too much?
Too scary?


Too many excuses! Sadly, too many excuses. Now it is too late!


Why do we take life for granted? Why do we waste time with the temporal and mundane things in life to the neglect of things with true eternal meaning.


Why? Why do we take love for granted. Do we not understand it is the most powerful force in the universe! The most constructive, the most positive and the most redemptive. We each possess it and we all desire more of it.


Why don't we share it? Let it flow freely between us.


Is there someone in your life you are holding back on showing true love? Open up your heart and let it out.


Is there someone in your life trying to show true love to you, but you won't let it happen? Open up your arms and let them in.


Text them, tweet them, call them, write them, by any means necessary let them know that you love them! Even if it is simply something you love about them, tell them...while you still have the chance.


Life is fleeting, but love is powerful and everlasting!
