Family Time

There comes a time in boot camp when recruits began to gel. The barracks becomes 'home' and the strangers you live with become 'family'.

It is at this point drill and cadence become crisper, uniforms become sharper and bearing becomes focused.

It was during this time that a young white guy from Iowa made the following confession to his newly found black brothers. He said that all his life he had been brought up to hate black people, but had never actually spent any time with any black person before. And he summed up his conclusion with a simple phrase, "But you know, y'all alright!"

Enough said.
